ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT.

This statement was last updated on May 4, 2025.

At Essential Earth Futures (EEF), we are committed to ensuring digital inclusion for all. Our mission to educate and empower the next generation of environmental stewards includes creating a website that is welcoming, usable, and accessible to individuals of all abilities.

What web accessibility is

An accessible website allows visitors with disabilities to navigate, understand, and interact with content just as effectively as any other user. This can be achieved through thoughtful design, compliance with accessibility standards, and support for assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, and voice control systems.

Accessibility Features on this site

We have designed www.essentialearthfutures.org to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. Our goal is to maintain high accessibility standards across all current and future content.

The following accessibility adjustments have been implemented across our site:

  • Language of the site is clearly defined

  • Logical content order is maintained throughout each page

  • Heading structures follow a consistent and accessible hierarchy

  • Alternative (alt) text is provided for all images

  • Color combinations meet contrast ratio standards for readability

  • Animations and motion are minimized to reduce sensory overload

  • All multimedia (audio, video, PDFs) are made accessible whenever possible

  • Navigation is keyboard-friendly

  • Links and buttons are clearly labeled for screen readers

We continually monitor and update our website to maintain compliance and enhance usability.

Declaration of partial compliance

Some third-party content or embedded tools used on this website (such as donation platforms, event registration systems, or videos hosted on external platforms) may not fully conform to accessibility standards. We are actively engaging with these providers to improve accessibility and ensure a consistent experience across all touchpoints.

Accessibility at In-Person Events

While Essential Earth Futures currently operates without a permanent physical office, we prioritize accessibility when selecting venues for our mobile pop-up camps, workshops, and community events. We aim to ensure:

  • ADA-compliant entrances, seating, and restrooms

  • Accessible parking or public transit nearby

  • Clear visual signage

  • Options for visual, auditory, and sensory accommodations as needed

Event accessibility details will be shared in each event announcement. Please contact us in advance if you have specific needs or requests.
